About this place
At lunch, one of Dream’s distinctive touches is letting diners decide how spicy to make their tantanmen. The menu describes its original tantanmen as “not spicy”, and one diner reported adding chilli oil to adjust the heat. It’s an approachable choice if you prefer milder food, and you can try it as served before adding chilli oil. One visitor paired the tantanmen with a pork rice bowl and mixed an egg into the bowl.
Lunch sets centre on a choice of noodles and rice bowl. The original cold noodles come with either a pork belly rice bowl or a marinated tuna rice bowl. The warm noodles are served in a creamy soup with mentaiko cream sauce, with the same two rice bowls to choose from. Opt for the cold noodles if you want the milder option, or the warm noodles if the mentaiko sauce appeals. Choosing between pork belly and marinated tuna also gives the set a different character.
The lunch menu also includes a pork belly cutlet with raw egg, pork shabu-shabu-style slices with a mini tuna bowl, and fried horse mackerel. These offer a change from the noodle-and-rice-bowl sets. One lunch diner commented that the meal included several small side dishes and was satisfying. Dine-in is available, and the restaurant is described as suitable for solo diners, making it an option for lunch in Kayabacho.
